Duke of Edingburgh Golf Day
On 23rd March Apes Hill donated their 18-hole champtionship course to host the the Duke Of Edingburg Award Scheme Golf Day.
The event, which was hosted by HRH Price Edward duke of York was a huge success and a great day for members and invited guests.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award has been dedicated to the personal development of young people from all backgrounds. With the widest reach of any UK youth charity, 275,000 young people (30,000 are from disadvantaged backgrounds) undertake inspiring DofE programmes to achieve Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Awards every year.
To date they have helped 4 million people in the UK and, thanks to over 120 sister organisations, 2 million internationally. There commitment, efforts and results were recognised in 2006, during our 50th Anniversary, when her Majesty the Queen granted them Royal Charter status.
As a Charity they rely on the generosity of people and organisations and Apes Hill Club are proud to have been invoved in this worthy cause.
